Crankshafts are sensitive instruments. They provide all the exciting pumping action your scooter needs and a perfectly trued crankshaft makes a fine-running motor hum long and sweet. In fact, a crankshaft out of true can cause a lot of stress on internal engine components.
Any time you remove a crankshaft, it must trued to prevent your main bearings from wearing prematurely, so it's crazy not to true your crankshaft because you'll probably be rebuilding your engine a helluva lot sooner if you don't!
